Meet the new grads

Introducing the latest new faces in the clinics.

Demand for vets is nothing new and it has been increasing annually.

Our recruitment team is working relentlessly to ensure that our clinics continue to provide the excellent health care and services that we all expect for our animals.

Each year, we welcome fresh faces to our veterinary teams. So, let’s meet the latest tranche of graduates who have joined our teams across Winton, Gore and Invercargill:

Taren Jones: Mixed Animal Veterinarian, Gore

"I'm originally from a small town in South Dakota (the northern midwest of the United States), but I've been in NZ for the past 5 years completing my veterinary degree.

I chose to come down south because the people remind me more of home - just super friendly and willing to give a helping hand.

Outside of work I enjoy tramping, hunting, fishing, snowboarding, crossfit and pretty much anything outdoors!"

James Benstead: Mixed Animal Veterinarian, Winton

"Hey, I'm James, hailing from Perth, Western Australia.

I've had a great start so far and am looking forward to meeting new people and having some good yarns.

Outside of work, I'm keen on getting out and exploring the vast NZ backyard."

Ben Bottcher: Mixed Animal Veterinarian, Gore

"Originally from the US, I studied in Montana and Washington states before travelling down here for a new adventure!

I really enjoy travelling and working outside with large animals.

When I'm not working, I enjoy doing anything outside, especially hiking, fishing, and skiing.

I am looking forward to meeting you all on farm!"

Brad Shaw: Mixed Animal Veterinarian, Gore

"I'm originally from all the way up in Taranaki, and I just recently moved down here to be a mixed animal vet.

What I really like about being a vet is just the variety of what I get to see and do each day. Some days have me driving all over the area, and I get to see so many new places all while being on the job.

I'm keen as to get out in my free time and start properly exploring the south."
